Ok when you use the term tectonic you probably specify the period up Serravalian to the present. It is known that in the Algerian territory the establishment of tectonic nappes is occurred at the Burdigalein to Langhian, it is a major tectonic phase.

Then there was a phase of expansion during Langhian, this period is called by some authors "lithospheric rebound" is comtemporary with instalation of sublitoral Basin for sample the Lower Basin of Chelif (Thomas, 1985).

After this period all stages of deformations that have occurred are in the neotectonic stage.
