There was a publication in the New Scientist linking the essential oils in cosmetics to breast growth in boys, and suggesting the oils contain potential hormone disrupters.
Interested to find out more about the research behind this. Also interested to find out about any other related studies.
I have found some case studies alleging a link. Here is the most recent I've come across. Note it mentions three cases, so alot more research needs to be done!

Thank you. Clearly looks like a lot more research is needed, to be able to draw such a conclusion. I am not convinced!
There are some additional case studies (including from NEJM), but not many. I'm not aware of any research on this besides reporting case studies - certainly no double blind clinical trails. Search PubMed for "Oils, Volatile/adverse effects[MAJR]" for additional studies. I agree that much more research needs to be done before any kind of conclusions can be drawn.
