You might want to look at Conger"s Charismatic Assessment (C-K Scale, 1994). Focuses more on the "charismatic attributes" and has convergent and discriminate validity with the MLQ.
I agree Paul Arsenault but it should be remembered that this is only measuring the transformational style in leadership, The Conger and Kanungo questionnaire is based on an assumption that charisma is an attribute that is used by leaders in interactions with members of an organisational group. The main thesis underpinning the questionnaire is that a leader will be viewed as charismatic when they are perceived as charismatic by followers within that organisational group.
Conger and Kanungo’s questionnaire purports to measure the following behavioural attributes of charismatic leadership:
Vision and Articulation
Environmental sensitivity
Sensitivity to members needs
Unconventional Behaviour
Personal Risk
Avoidance of the status quo.
The model measures the transformational impact of leaders, with the principle target to change the conduct of the adherents their fundamental states of mind, conclusions and qualities. Conger and Kanungo assert that charismatic leadership gives rise to attitudinal change in the followers which can be observed in the way the followers identify with the leader’s values which are imbedded in the vision of the leader.
