Hi everyone, I am doing research on in vivo study of LPS-induced inflammation in tissues. One thing is that I am not sure whether the oral gavage of LPS directly damages target tissues. So, I want to visualize mobilization of LPS in mice after orally administrated. I heard that there are some tools that enables to track the mobilization of LPS by fluorescent tag. If you have or saw any related publications or protocols, please answer to this question.

Still, I have some question.. One thing is whether FITC-LPS can survive in the body of mice until the mice are sacrificed. The other thing is whether DsRed-labelled bacteria would emits DsRed-labeled LPS and then we can detect the LPS after their sacrifice or not.
I can see no reason why FITC-LPS should not survive - it will much depend on the time you sacrifice the mice after the administration of LPS, whether you can still find it or not. Hereby you can follow the existing literature on LPS.
What I could say according to the literature, if your bacteria express DsRed, the protein itself remains in the cell, so LPS remains unstained.
If you have antibodies against LPS conjugated with DsRed, you mark LPS - so you should be able to detect it later in the mice. But you will not know, if you detect whole bacteria OR / AND just LPS without performing in parallel other detection methods e.g. histology, FISH or so.
