Tyrosine kinase (TK) are essential components in humans and their role has been manifested in many diseases. Normally we used to synthesise the TK inhibitors. So I want to know is there any plant source of tyrosine kinase inhibitor?
As per the references, Curcumin has anti-tyrosine kinase activity and has been shown to inhibit ligand-induced activation of the epidermal growth factor receptor tyrosine phosphorylation without affecting the protein level. Curcumin is the major pigment in turmeric, a rhizome of the plant Curcuma longaLin. It is used as a flavor (curry) and also as an herbal medicine for inflammatory disease.
In Addition to curcumin, flavonoids like genistein (from soy) and quercetin are tyrosine kinase Inhibitors. The diterpenoid triptolide from Thunder God Vine (Tripterygium wilfordii) inhibits VEGFR.
