we are currently modeling a indoor temperature prediction model. In order to test and validate this prediction model we need to prepare synthetic data set based on standard equations.
where can we find a mathematical relationship between the indoor temperature, ambient temperature and occupancy ?
There is no direct relathionship because of the impact of building envelope on the system.
If you analyze together building envelope and inddor space, the energy balance equation in the indoor space can help you.
More specifically:
Qloads=M*cp*dTin/dt
The Qloads are the heat tranger from the walls, roof to the indoor area, as well as loads from equipment and ventilation-infiltration.
If you suppose that there are no equipment (lighing, etc) and no infiltration-ventilation, then only the loads from the walls.
If also fyou say that the building material have no thermal mass, something that it is not so realistic but it is a first approximation, then you can use teh conductivity equation.
Calculat the total building (U*A) and then you say:
Qloads=(U*A)*(Tam-Tin), for summer for example when Tam>Tin
But this is a very simple model for preliminary results
I'm not so expert at this field. I think you can find many mathematical models in the lietrature but I read about and used a few models in the following refrerences:

For now, we need real data for each input and output.But we don't have any access to such data. So our plan is to calculate the data theoretically from equations. For example if we consider ambient temperature and internal heat source as variables ( assuming that other factors don't have any effect on output),We want to build a dataset of indoor temperature against each corresponding values of ambient temperature and heat source value. Also for now we are aiming to build a very simple model so the accuracy of the system dynamics ifs not very important for now
We have a fully instrumented "test building" at Syracuse University, the SyracuseCoE building (Syracuse, NY hosted Healthy Building 2009 conference). The building is continously monitored for up to 5000 points (T, RH, etc) and also for outdoor conditions, solar insolation, position and closure level of automated blinds, etc. If you really wanted to develop a data based model (or empirical model). I will be happy to explore a collaborative effort with your program/university.
Some interesting answers but the thermal comfort adaptive model is a good indicator. I suggest you look up the work of Humphreys, Nicol and Roaf. Of course this is not an absolute because of the reasons expressed above but gives a good indication and can be used universally across different climates.

The problem is the calculation of the thermal resistance. Thermal resistance for one room in the building must be considered to the outside conditions and between this room and adjacent rooms. For the building as a whole thermal resistance must be regarded as the thermal resistance of the walls to the ambient, the roof and the attic with the ambient (air temperature) and the basement to the ground. And the quality of the thermal insulation (thermal resistance) of the walls, roof, basement may differ in dozens of times.
The easiest way is to measure the thermal resistance experimentally. Place the heater with known power in the room and measure the temperature inside and outside. Only it is needed to take into account the thermal power of the people in the room.
The phenomena of modeling indoor temperature in a building is quite complex. You have described the problem just in brief. For me it is not clear whether you are looking for the models describing winter or summer conditions. Therefore I will concentrate on the word “Standard”. I can recommend you a big set of ISO and EU standards. See the examples below:

Shanewaz: Are you calculating indoor temperature or building heat loss/gain? The indoor temperature would likely stick close to the thermostat setting, regardless of exterior temperature or occupancy.
There are many layers for calculation: in short it involve internal gains, outside weather and ventilation, each has further subdivisions.

The ISO Standard EN 13790 annex C. describes a simplified method for calculating building energy need in relation to weather data, HVAC system, occupation and internal temperature. This method has been validated with more sophisticated building simulation tools such as Energy Plus and IDA-ICE, and was found sufficient in prediction of indoor thermal temperature.
