During an unplanned outage or a Fault Clearance. The Power system will move into the stable point after transient oscillations as per Theory. Now, how the T&D Companies manage the reliability of the downstream load depends on the criticality of the Faulted Line or Transformer and Redundant path availability. In case a very critical feeder tripped thereby reducing the total power availability on the Load Side, then T&D Companies will resort to have a Load Shedding Scheme to maintain the Stability of the System.

Several Load management schemes are available in the Market from various OEMS like Siemens, Honeywell, ABB etc.
