I am doing a project work on calculation of distribution losses. To calculate the losses, I had develop a code on MATLAB for Load Flow Analysis. By using the data of my case study, I got results. Now, I want to validate it. If there is any software or any certified methodology to calculate the distribution loss, please provide with supportive documents.

Well, I was a statistician with the US Energy Information Administration (EIA), and I recall a "ballpark" average that was all we really needed to consider for what we did, at least where I worked, so I looked it up on the internet, and that is found below, preceded by a flow diagram I think might be of some little validation help. This may be too rough to be of much or any interest to you, but perhaps they could be used as some support for your overall validity:

Official statistics for electric sales and generation are collected by the EIA, but because electrons on the grid don't care which ones went where, we only considered overall loss. If you look at the difference between sales and generation, say at a US State level, using data from http://www.eia.gov, it will not only be due to line loss, but also the uncertainty in the estimates. There are data on estimated relative standard errors, but though such estimates regarding variance due to sampling are also influenced by bias and nonsampling errors, they do not fully account for them.

PS - If you contact the EIA, you might ask if they can connect you with one of the Department of Energy national laboratories, perhaps Oak Ridge, and/or a private company, though I suppose that a private company may not only be less likely to help you, they might even try to steal your software, so beware. - Also, I recall a statistician, Rod Wright, I think, who may have a journal paper on loads from the 1980s, if that is of any possible use to you.
