I would like to calculate stage to get desired product from crude oil distillation. In case of binary distillation it is simple to use McCabe–Thiele method to determine stage and feed location. Is there any simple procedure for crude oil distillation stage and feed location determination. Even using ASPEN Hysys. Please Advise.
It is not trivial to simulate crude oil distillation unit mainly because of many multi-component streams and their intricate recycling. However in HYSYS, there's a template for crude oil distillation which can be used as a starting point.

Because you want to simulate crude, you must define feed stream by TBP of stream. also use shortcut column. I guess it's better using PetroSIM instead of HYSYS.
There are many texts about how to define crude by its properties, just google it.
BTW all programs automatically find feed stage based on feed stream to column.

HYSYS shortcut distillation module can be used for pure components. Whether it is binary of multi-component system. But In case of crude oil I have to define output product assay or cut point to calculate required stages what is not included in the HYSYS shortcut distillation module. Again shortcut module is not capable to calculate stage for multiple product draw. That is why I am facing problem.
