A 6 level Haar wavelet decomposition of EDA data sampled at a frequency of 5 Hz yielded level 1 detail coefficients within a frequency range of 1.25 Hz to 2.5 Hz. It is mentioned in the literature that the frequency bands of sympathetic tone in EDA is 0.045 Hz - 0.25 Hz. However, coefficient of variation (CV) of level 1 detail coefficients emerge as a useful feature for EDA based classification of sleep data. Is not CV(d1) essentially the noise variance? What makes it a usable feature for classification?
