I am unable to find articles on perovskite/silicon tandem thin-film solar cells. Is there any? or is there any technical issues while fabricating perovskite/silicon tandem thin film solar cells? Please guide.
Fully textured monolithic perovskite/silicon tandem solar cells with 25.2% power conversion efficiency
Tandem devices combining perovskite and silicon solar cells are promising candidates to achieve power conversion efficiencies above 30% at reasonable costs. State-of-the-art monolithic two-terminal perovskite/silicon tandem devices have so far featured silicon bottom cells that are polished on their front side to be compatible with the perovskite fabrication process. This concession leads to higher potential production costs, higher reflection losses and non-ideal light trapping. To tackle this issue, we developed a top cell deposition process that achieves the conformal growth of multiple compounds with controlled optoelectronic properties directly on the micrometer-sized pyramids of textured monocrystalline silicon. Tandem devices featuring a silicon heterojunction cell and a nanocrystalline silicon recombination junction demonstrate a certified steady-state efficiency of 25.2%. Our optical design yields a current density of 19.5 mA cm−2 thanks to the silicon pyramidal texture and suggests a path for the realization of 30% monolithic perovskite/silicon tandem devices.

Perovskite/silicon tandem solar cells at the magic threshold of 30% efficiency
In the beginning of 2020, a team headed by Prof. Steve Albrecht at the HZB broke the previous world record for tandem solar cells made of perovskite and silicon (28.0%, Oxford PV), setting a new world record of 29.15%. Compared to the highest certified and scientifically published efficiency (26.2% in DOI: 10,1126/science.aba3433), this is a giant step forward. The new value has been certified at Fraunhofer ISE and listed in the NREL chart. Now, the results have been published in the journal Science with a detailed explanation of the fabrication process and underlying physics.
The meteoric rise of perovskite single-junction solar cells has been accompanied by similar stunning developments in perovskite tandem solar cells. Debuting with efficiencies less than 14% in 2014, silicon–perovskite solar cells are now above 25% and will soon surpass record silicon single-junction efficiencies. Unconstrained by the Shockley–Queisser single-junction limit, perovskite tandems suggest a real possibility of true third-generation thin-film photovoltaics; monolithic all-perovskite tandems have reached 18% efficiency and will likely pass perovskite single-junction efficiencies within the next 5 years.
Forgács et al. reported a perovskite/perovskite tandem solar cell fabricated by sequential vapor deposition and delivered a maximum PCE of 18%, thus highlighting the potential of sequentially deposited multilayer structures to improve the efficiency of single-junction perovskite devices [111]. 4.3. Vapor-Assisted Solution Method. ... Therefore, it is necessary to find a low-toxicity or nontoxic ingredient to replace Pb in the future. Fifthly, there is a lack of deep understanding of the microscopic physics mechanism of perovskite solar cells. Therefore, it is necessary to establish a complete theoretical model to explain the reasons for the increase in the conversion efficiency.
Thank you so much for these useful articles on perovskite/silicon tandem solar cells. However, I was looking for perovskite/microcrystalline silicon tandem thin-film solar cells.
