we got near-spherical nanoparticles when mixture, in the form of a pallet, of two material is evaporated via a single boat, but when evaporated separately and simultaneously with the two boats via co-evaporation, nanorods formed. can anyone explain the possible reason behind the change in morphology due to the change in the deposition process? is surface playing any role here?

I recommend to study the phase diagram of your substances. Lets take an example: lead and tin. If you take a mixture of these two metals than the mixture first melts and it forms an alloy - solder. This solder has a lower melting point than the individuell components. I assume, the same result you have for the evaporation temperature. Your product forms after evaporation but at different temperatures. This means at different surface tensions. A sphere indicates to a higher surface tension than a rod. May be, this is the explanation.
