Do you mean flexible flexible? Do you really can bend it without destruction? And it can be shrinked? Please, don't be angry, I barely can answer to your question, but I'm really interested in it! I've never heard about flexible crystals!
In extraxt of the above discussion bending phenomenon of the material by the photo irradiation only. But the Acene based materials are highly flexible in the form of crystalline state. For example the rubrene material have an tendency of bending by the external force (at the tip of tweezer). in the below link the Rubrene material are bended by the external force (tweezer). Could you explain the mechanism and scientific reason behind this
Now a days there are several reports for the bending crystals due to external stimulai like uv radiation, heat and physical touch. in Most of the case it due to phase transformation involving some structural change in crystal packing. flexibity is also depend on crystal morphology, face orientations. In near future hope to see some more examples with thorough explanations.
