Hi Thirupugalmini. The UV/Vis cutoff might be affected by the purity of the solvent with the possibility of impurities causing a shift in the cutoff wavelength. However the since the cutoff peak is very pronounced, peaks due to impurities overlapping with the cutoff peak will most likely "drown" in the cutoff peak.
Not as familiar with single crystal UV/Vis cutoff but spectra from single crystals should be anisotropic. Maybe the following link might help with your question:
