Most of the public opinion research on regional integration were conducted in European context. I hardly found any on developing countries. Can you please give me information, if any, on the studies on public opinion on regional integration in another area other than Europe?
This is an interesting question. Unfortunately, I do not know any such public opinion survey.
However, I believe we need to have one now in developing coutries because there seems to be a big gap between what citizens think and what politicians do.

Numerous regional integration programmes exist in developing countries (DCs). I must point out that social science publications concentrating on DCs should, like many others, be searched seriously. Most currently and recently appear online. Hitherto, there were prevented from global circulation by imperialistic social science institutions whose barricades held them captive for long. However, you must search them creatively because their titles would not necessarily describe them as regional integration. In/on Africa, we do have many organisational platforms engaged in various regional integration activities of political, socio-cultural, economic, among other dimensionalities of regions engaging in cooperation. These have been profusely described/documented. For e.g. gas pipelines originating from Nigeria and traversing across West Africa
UNESCO did some public opion surveys on regional integration in West Africa. You may want to query the UNESCO office in Ghana which conducted the research. They wanted to extend these surveys to the rest of Africa but didnt make it. The Society for International Development (SID) in Kenya has done some work, including surveys in East Africa

I think public opinion survey on regional integration is an interesting yet important idea. With regard to ASEAN Community, it will be a challenging effort to cover all 10 members. You might need to cooperate with local research center or university. There is a network of academia who work closely with government so called NEAT (Network of Eas Asian Think-Tanks).
