I have analysed percentage carbon (total) using CHNS Elemental Analyzer for the forest soils. Now, I would like to obtain SOC content from the obtained value for which I am looking for a procedure or an equation.
Please suggest if there any. Thank you

@ Ashaq, total soil carbon (%) = organic carbon (%)/1.72
Although, this conversion factor assumes organic matter contains 58% organic carbon. However this can vary with the type of organic matter, soil type and soil depth.

And remember to consider that the 1.724 conversion factors is only applied on soil, If I am not mistaken. The conversion factor for other material, plant, compost for example is different.
