Is there any possibility of measuring the voltage without interfacing the line ?

For measuring the voltage we need the potential difference ,for that we need to interface the cable line...... is it possible to measure the voltage in different way ...

If the resistance (or impedance) is uniform throughout the cable, you can do some calculation of any voltage drop at any point on the line if you know the voltage at sending end (bus) and receiving end (bus) without needing to interface line. Is that right?
