We need to monitor surface waters in terms of nutrients and algae content. We are building up an on-line in-situ monitoring system for early detection of cyanobacterial blooming and toxicity into waterbodies. Thus, this sensor needs to be like a probe, not a whole device in order to be fitted into the whole system. I didn't find any at the moment.

Well you need to make an installation depending on the number of parameters you want to measure near your study area.
This method is new, so did not found a real methodology for an online monitoring!

My under5standing is that the productivity of water bodies is well-related to the free phosphate concentration and very poorly or not at all to molybdate reactive P.
Whether there is a smart sparation method I don't know. Maybe ESI-MS would work if it's sensitive enough.
