I have data for which I have to use the Mann-Whitney U test. Apparently, It would be better to show mean ranks rather than mean or median of the samples. I only use R for data visualization. I am not an expert in R. Is there an easy way to calculate the mean ranks for each group in my data using RStudio? (So that I can show them as a reference for the two-tailed test to get -easily- which group is greater than the other.)
Samuel Oluwaseun Adeyemo Thank u so much, but I am looking for a special rank() function which can calculate ranks for merged vectors and keep the ranks for each vector separately in the memory so that I can find the mean of the rank for each group
Samuel Oluwaseun Adeyemo Thank u so much. I have tried the solution with aggregate() function. It works but I am still suspicious about the result. Mean ranks seem same, eventhough the mann whitney u test says these data are significantly different. I have a mistake at somewhere that I hpoe to finf. Thanks again.
