The Egyptian Shield is a part of the Arabian Nubian Shield (ANS) composed mainly of ophiolitic-arc assemblage formed during East African Orogen 950-550 Ma ( Stern 1994) after the break up of the Rodinia. Some workers believe that the formation of ANS is related to accretionary island arcs and others believe in obducted ophiolitic-arc assemblage over continental margins of east Sahara Craton exposed in Uweinat area of southwestern Desert of Egypt. The continental margin extends underneath the EAO until the Red Sea (e.g. El Gaby et al., 1988) and exposed in the window structures of gneisses domal structures (Hafafit and Meatiq domes) as remobilized infrastructures. But the problem is in the ages of these infrastructures where does not exceed 640 Ma. while Some ancient ages › 1000 Ma were recorded in the detrital zircon of metasediments in the south Eastern Desert and the volcanic arc of Sinai of Egypt.
