Is there any new application for diamond?

I have a preliminary idea regarding PFOA degradation: many researchers have utilized diamond under light irradiation to generate hydrated electrons for CO₂ reduction. Is it promising for me to use diamond to break C-F bonds (of PFOA)? For PFOA degradation, does anyone have any suggestions regarding the use of diamond?

In principle that should work. Please be aware that electrochemical reduction of PFOA has already been demonstrated with regular gold electrodes:

I do not know if diamond-based electrodes will have an advantage over metal, though, and if you want to get it into the industry, you would have to demonstrate exactly that.
