Is there any matlab command for pole placement for descriptor systems?

I am designing a feedback tracking controller for descriptor systems.does there exist any command in matlab for pole placement of descriptor systems or not(as in case of satespace system "place" exists)? because this way i have to solve higher order matrices manually.
