The energy is stored in different forms. One of the application of electrical energy is lighting. Light is available every where during day time. If light is stored as a light and released as light form when it required. It simplifies the process of converting solar energy into electrical energy and stored in batteries, later it is used for lighting propose.

Microresonators do this task. A fundamental problem with the storage of energy in the form of light is that no material is 'perfectly' reflecting over all frequencies (the high speed of light makes that the number of reflections in any finite container is very large over any reasonable length of time, so that any deviation of the reflectivity from 1.0 is very detrimental for the length of time one can store energy in the form of light).

Light can be observed only when the matter turns in to plasma state which is an unstable state of the matter(4th state). That makes it near impossible to store light in its original form.
You can store light in the form of electricity (i.e., electrons) that charge a battery. When needed, the stored electricity can be converted back to light.
