CD163 (M2c) and CD206(M2a) work fine for IHC. You just have to be careful and check if the clone and antibody you are using is appropriated for IHC. For M1 people usually go for iNOS intracellular staining.
Depending on your cell type, i.e. mouse or human, you could use the following sets of markers: iNOS intracellular for M1 for both mouse and human, Arginase intracellular for mouse and STAT6 intracellular for human for M2. You can have a look at these references and then decide antibodies for which markers are optimized for IHC.
Are you talking about murine or human markers? CD163 and CD206 should be fine for both, as M2 markers, but iNOS will not work for humans. In this case, IL-12 should be helpful.
