Usually for the description of fibre strength distribution it is assumed that the probability of destruction of a link of a chain (a fiber element) depends on mechanical tension in it under the degree law with parameters – m and .
However fibers are supposed to consist of big number of links aspiring to infinity. Break of one of links leads to break of all fiber, and dependence of strength from length of fibers may be described by Weybull's distribution. Formula (2) explains as loading (P) depends on sample length - L. Sometimes it is called as large-scale effect
