I read that double emulsion solvent evaporation PLGA nanoparticles loaded with hidrofilic APIs show a release time of about 2-3hours. I would like to know if I could change the PLGA and get slower sustained release kinetics.
The simplest answer is no. There is no way to encapsulate hydrophilic drugs with plga even if you use a double emulsion procedure. I am currently studying the modification of plga to increase the release time of pemetrexed.
I managed to encapsulate hydriphilic Active Principles in PLGA with double emulsion procedure, but before to start the release kinetics assay I would like to know if there is another polymer or different material to encapsulate it and get slower release kinetics.
