There are not any document about cross-species transfer of HIV but based on phylogeny analysis scientists believed that there are relate between hiv and siv .
There are many barriers to cross-species transfer of any retrovirus. There are hundreds of studies looking not only at barriers to cross-species transfer of primate lentiviruses (the HIVs and SIVs) but also on changes in pathogenicity of the same virus in different species. Most of this work has been done using SIV from Sooty mangabeys, which can infect macaques, and then replacing regions of the SIV genome with the corresponding region of the HIV genome, to make SIV-HIV hybrid viruses known as SHIVs.
