Is there any difference between sulfur dioxide from ambient air and sulfur dioxide from stack emission? why we are using different absorbing solution?

When we are doing the Ambient air monitoring and stack monitoring , then for same parameter why we use different absorbing solution ?

For monitoring of SOX in Ambient Air we use TCM solution where in stack we use hydrogen peroxide and IPA solution.
