It seems the significant differences exist between two kind of methadone syrup in Iran (yellow and white). Most of methadone participants prefer to use white syrup because they believe the yellow syrup has alcohol taste and some of patients were avoiding yellow syrup, because of their religious beliefs.

Also we have a same story for methadone tablets; There are two kind of tablets exist in Iran; White and brown and patients more comfortable with brown tablets.

Exir's syrup is no longer manufactured in yellow color. Similar to its counterpart Daroopakhsh, It manufactures its syrup in white. The taste has also improved and apparently patients now complain less. Especially if they don't see the bottle. this is an implicit finding we have come across in a qualitative study we are currently conducting.
