During my study on toxicity of material in Zebra fish, I have analysed morphological changes of major organs. There is no evidence for morphological changes in heart, kidney, liver, gil and intestine. But the minimal toxicity was observed in spleen?? Is there any specific reason to affect spleen?
Well why not, it is possible to affect only spleen, since its major lymphatic organ toxicity towards specific cell type is possible.
If your drug is expected to interact with immune cells and lymph nodes then yes spleen will be affected as it is the major lymphatic organ. Also clearance of blood takes place in the spleen of an organism so the load of your drug can be higher in the spleen therefore you are observing the effect in the spleen
Always each agent may interacts with the immune system in the body caused negative effects on spleen, because the spleen as the blood clearance action in the body.
Thank you all for your respones. In my study compound derived from marine actinomycetes affected only spleen as well as it does not make any damage on liver, kidney, heart, intestine and gills of Zebra fish. This will be immense helpful to discuss and clarify why the compound specifically damage the spleen only.

pathological changes of each toxicant depend on how and where it metabolized and exerted. So spleen as organ that act on contaminated, infected or destroy cells, show minimal changes in most toxicity.
Besides aniline and derivatives, there are not so many according to my knowledge.
In mice, hematopoesis is retained in spleen during their whole lifespan. Therefore, any compound affecting hematopoesis will have effect but not solely.
In fish is a little different. Spleen alterations can be also sign for starvation, stress etc.
