Hi there,
I am new to cell culture. I started sub culturing my cells at passage 16. Now when i reached p23, i see unusual morphological changes in my cells. I have to keep passaging my cells till they reach senescence. Is that clustering a normal phenomenon or my cells are contaminated? i do know that young cells do face stress and divide slow at certain point before senescence, but p23 is too early to get that situation.

Triet Bui , I assume the image you attached is more magnified. Of course the HeLa cells are more impact, please check out my previous HeLa cells in the figure attached. I had to discard that stock due to mycobacterium contamination. HeLa cells have ability to contaminate other cells so that is why I asked if my media bottle was contaminated and disturbed my fibrobalsts or what
