I am working in projects department in industry. Recently I have come across a startup that manufactures Solar Thermal plates. These plates are installed between compressor and condenser in a VCRS cycle (Air conditioner).
As per the startup the heat from solar energy is added to the compressed refrigerant thereby increasing its temperature.
Somehow it reduces the load thereby reducing the rpm of the compressor.
I am unable to comprehend the exact mechanism behind this, if anyone can help that will be a big support in making the decision to whether go with it or not.

Can you tell from which type of benefit are you looking at ? Cost effective benefit or Efficiency improvement benefit ?
I understand that there can be benefits in the reduction of size of compressor, however the overall efficiency of system may be not. This can be attributed to variable solar power source which will affect the temperature of plates and eventually the circulating refrigerant between the compressor and condenser in the refrigeration cycle.
Unless the temperature drop (vis-a-vis enthalpy change) is sufficiently high, the benefits of adding solar thermal plates may not be greatly realized. However, a point to note is the cost for integrating the solar thermal system to the refrigeration cycle may be not easy and would require additional investment when buying air conditioner. (e.g. temperature controller and/or monitoring equipment, etc)
