It seems that even rodents can produce kind of propositional representations (Blaisdell et al. 2006) (kutlu et al. 2012), letting us thinking that it could be possible to test behaviourally belief distortion in rodents. I have found Represention-Mediated Taste Aversion paradigm, but I was wondering if some other paradigm were already used. Thanks ;)
I feel sure rodents could have auditory hallucinations, ie elaborations of chronic tinnitus. There are many suitable paradigms for testing this, though as far as I know no one seems to want to explore these animal models of hallucinations. Rhythmic tinnitus can morph into music in humans with no brain disease or disorder, so I do not see why this could not happen in rodents.
If a young rat gets such a hallucination, and goes round searching for its mother as it thinks she is the origin of such a formed auditory perception and is calling it, does this count as a delusional belief?
The one point of delusion in animals leads to maltreatment, and possibly conditioning aspects with a touch of abandonment. The cell make up of rodents brains is foar more than other mammal species. Understanding dulusion in a rodent per say to conditioned abandonment (Environment) is a point of communicative etiology and or institutionalization and more conditioning if there is hope to wipe out the disorder/conflict within the rodent. The rodent hasn't spoken to you has it (Jest). The communicative aspect is still observational lever pushing and maze heaven. It reminds me of foundational binary code positives and negatives & (Null) .
