Some people using 1 minute (time sampling) to record/monitoring data from energy monitoring system. I would like to know is there any international standard for minimum time sampling on data monitoring especially for energy systems in buildings. Thanks!
The sampling rate is determined by the time-domain definition (dt) you need for:
-describing phenomena/events you want to track with sufficient detail for proper identification /matching (short burst... In some extreme case maybe a lightning hitting the top of a building?)
-reacting to events, here the dt is the reaction time after the event occurs.
In the first case the issue is the length of relevant information for decision, in the second your decision delay.
On national electricity grids you may need to go below 1ms precision/definition but in other cases 10 or 100 ms are enough, even a few hours in other cases... Imagine you slowly increase the room temperature of a meeting room in advance of a scheduled meeting...

Renaud Di Francesco The monitoring simply just wants to measure the energy building systems such as energy consumption (kWh) every month with details number and graph presentation (like data logger but having more graph presentation for energy evaluation), energy use for lighting, air conditioning, etc.
So, basically, the question is, is the standard for sampling rate for this kind of monitoring available? For instance, the data will be taken every 1 minutes. It surely needs also to consider the IoT processing time used for measurement.
