Is there a suggestion or method to remove contaminated salts (seawater) from white sugar? can we use these in a sugarcane factory to reproduce white sugar? also can use the final molasses to produce ethanol?
The mixture of sugar and salt solutions can be separated by evaporation. If water completely evaporated we can get only sugar. However residue may remain as salts. Experimently this can be done. This process may not be economical viable. It is better to use fresh water instead of saline.
After the evaporation of the sugar -salt mixture solution and when the water is fully evaporated and we will get separated sugar from the mixture whereas if we dissolve the solution in alcohol, we get salt while sugar will be dissolved in alcohol.
