I am working on inheritance studies of Conyza spp. to glyphosate herbicide. I collected seeds from various locations and have identified resistant and susceptible biotypes. I will be selfing the populations for 2 consecutive generations and later make crosses. I will then backcross the offspring from the cross to the susceptible parent (parent from second selfing). If time allows, I would like to self the offspring from the backcross and make another backcross to the susceptible parent. Is this enough to determine how the resistance trait is inherited in the weed species? Thank you.
