Main advantage of Stirling engine is its capacity to make use of heat from any source. Yet, efficiency and weight is not in favour of heat machines in general.
You might try making silicon PV panels with IR reflective coatings, and aim the reflected IR at a heat tower which drives a Stirling engine. But I doubt the gain would be worthwhile.
Pertinent question but Do you mean new or improved thermodynamic Stirling cycle or Stirling cycle new technology without free pison?
