I am currently writing up results from a study that utilized the hg19 [Genome Reference Consortium Human Build 37 (GRCh37)] for analysis and I have not been able to identify a way to cite this resource. Is there a proper way to cite genome releases?
I have looked at both GRCh37 - https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/assembly/GCF_000001405.13/
and the current release (GRCh38) - https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/assembly/GCF_000001405.39

You can look at both Ensembl or UCSC genome browser, for citation related information as well as all kind of annotations.
