I am looking for a database that offers portraits of children that we would like to use in a research. Any information or resources would be most welcome!
Hi, Lukasz. I have recenty used images of children that I downloaded from publically available modelling agency sites. I needed multiple images of each child so that was the easiest way to do it.
I've found the highest resolution of google images with fully frontal facial orientations - and shot at the child's eye level (as opposed to from above) - comes from hairdressing sites - e.g. "cute haircuts for 5 year olds" or words to that effect.
Of course the limitation is that you are restricted to children who - as with Kay's suggestion of child models - are considered "cute" by whatever criterion happens to be in vogue, are willing to undergo the hair cutting/styling, and further compounded by the necessity for the child to possess scalp hair that can be attractively styled.
I have used the Dartmouth face database for pictures of children with different emotions https://journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371/journal.pone.0079131
