Working with Calathea (Marantaceae) flowers on rain forest I noticed a pair of insects reproducing on the flowers. It happened many times. Now I´m trying to find something about it but I can't find a way to name it, so I'm not being really successful on the task.
I'm not an insect expert, but I believe it was hemipteras. I attached a photo and would appreciate any help.
I confirm the identification: the insects in your photo are hemipterans (Hemiptera) and more precisely Heteroptera. You use the generic and very ample term "reproduction". The phenomenon in your photo corresponds, more exactly, to a single phase of the reproduction, the "mating". The causes of frequent mating behaviour on flowers can be different according to the different species which exhibit this type of behaviour: chemical or optical attraction by a feeding source, the flower (which facilitates the meeting of both sexes), protection, mimicry, and so on. In my opinion, a specific term for this phenomenon is not necessary.
