If I get it right, it means distrust from the patient's side? Anyway, cultural and linguistic traps may be found when you look into german literature concerning turkish immigrants as well as trying to pinpoint the relations of french or british people originating from they former colonies?
Can you explain "traps" in this context. And yes I do mean distrust on the patients' side. The issue that concerns me is when people don't seek put medical care because of Concerns they have regarding mistreatment or experimentation based on either their own experiences, stories shared by others, or historical events. (Or other reasons I may not be aware of).
Traps was translated literally from french, pitfall was meant. There were stories told about eastern europe in times of the USSR. For the groups I mentioned the same is true, especially for gypsies especially in Germany. I'm sorry that I've got no literature at hand.
I hadn't thought about the SInti and Roma people, but they were pretty systematically persecuted and I could see there being medical distrust there. THanks.
