RCM is a very good device to simulate the compression stroke and combustion process of IC engine. However, it's very hard to catch the push rod at the end of compression, since a very tiny recession of the rod may cause a huge decrease of incylinder pressure and temperature. The most effective method is using hydraulic mechanism, nevertheless, the mechanism is a little complex, so I wonder if there exists a simple way to lock the push rod staying at the position at end of compression?
