My research is on the Armenian translation of Orwell's "1984". The translation of newspeak words is extremely inconsistent. (Orwell assigns the suffix -wise for the creation of newspeak adverbs, but in the Armenian translation, the translator has reconstructed adverbs in several different ways- with an equivalent adverbial suffix in Armenian, in some places she has borrowed the words " like speedwise" directly into Armenian). And to be able to reveal this linguo-pragmatic inequivalence, I was thinking I could somehow graphically show those inconsistencies. Does anybody know of a certain way that one can map linguistic inconsistencies?
