A plant species on which I work has been identified as Cyclosorus oppositifolius? looking for information about its chorology and life form  i  found out a synonym on Global plants as Dryopteris afra. This plant is classified in family DRYOPTERIDACEA. However Cyclosorus oppositifolius is classified in the family THELYPTERIDACEAE.

Could you help me to understand this difference?
