I would like to use Preston tube to measure the bed shear stress in open channel, but I do not have idea how can I get static pressure. what is the type of static pressure tube? how can I use the static pressure tube?
For the application of Preston tube to the estimation of bed shear stress, I would suggest to read the paper from Ackerman et al. (J. Fluids Eng, 1994)
In general the static pressure is mesured by a hole perpendicular to the streamed wall. one possibility is a second tube at the side of the preston tube with a hole at the side or direct a hole in the wall at the area of interest.
