I would like to conduct a motion capture experiment outdoors. I will be collaborating with a laboratory that has recently bought a VICON system equipped with MXT10S cameras. According to VICON documentation, the T10s system can function even outdoors.
Can anyone please confirm that the system is really functional outdoors ?
Will I be dealing with a lot "phantom markers"?
Is the accuracy and precision of the marker position measurement affected?

I cannot remember where I read it but I did read about research outdoors on this system on cricket players in Australia with very good data to analyze.

I worked several years for the French distributor of Vicon and installed most of systems. With good physical settings, combined to a customized pipeline in Nexus, you won't have a lot of work to do.
The main potential limitation is related to what ou want to record and how many cameras you have.
Regarding sun low in the sky, choose the good position for your cameras and add a mask (but once more, the outcomes depend also on the number of cams).
Thank you Arnaud for your answer. I only have 6 cameras and I am required to do a full body kinematics analysis during gait initiation.
Placement of the cameras will be important, but it should be fine for gait initiation. Anyway, sun is not often a problem in our region!
