Some poetry is welcome from time to time! Of course, not as result of scientific research but as a kind of self-awareness. We are human beings and have feelings. We know, that is no compensation for research but an encouragement.
I think it should be separate but scientist and engineers should learn more about the humanities including poetry.
Poetry can be regarded as probabilistics. If a science or engineering curriculum should take in this aspect of applied linguistics, depends on a well elaborated course option, i.e. the quantitative apect and the quantification of human language. Here, we can built creative bridges to AI, machine learning, etc. Such a course design could clearly show the limits of technical intelligence, with respect to human ingenuity.

Knowledge expedition is a multidisciplinary activity. Personally, I have realised the high impacts of poetry in facilitating the learning of various subjects. It should not be in the preserve of the humanities bit also in the Sciences and Engineering.
