Diffusion is considered to be one of the most important transport phenomena in nature. It is defined as a macroscopic behavior emerging at long times from many different microscopic ones. Richardson in a pioneer paper (1926) studied the problem of separating pairs and nicely described the phenomena by a diffusive-like equation giving the PDF to observe a particle pair at a given distance at a later time.

What kind of diffusion has this model? Standard of anomalous?

Please here are two other related equations:

What do we mean by a self-similar distribution?

What can a correlation function tell us?

Thank you!
