I agree, I have not seen any good studies yet that support either hypothesis. Better to err on the cautious side, and assume that it does occur, when the patients are involved. Obviously more research is needed and will be done.
Currently, based on limited data, there is no evidence for intrauterine transmission of COVID-19 from infected pregnant women to their fetuses. Mothers may be at increased risk for more severe respiratory complications.
