Dear Ernesto Dominguez Lopez Indeed, be careful with this one. “Journal of Infrastructure Policy and Development” (https://systems.enpress-publisher.com/index.php/jipd ) looks legit, they are indexed in Scopus https://www.scopus.com/sourceid/21101052847 (Update 11-02-2025: As of now this journal is discontinued in Scopus).
However… if you look at the Scopus content coverage here https://www.scopus.com/sourceid/21101052847#tabs=2 they publish a staggering number of papers this year (more than 1200) compared to what they publish ‘normally’ (less than 20 annually).
This is often a reason for Scopus to discontinue a journal title. I predict this to happen within a month or two from now.
There are more red flags:
-The publisher behind it “Enpres Publisher” is mentioned in the updated version of the Beall’s list (https://beallslist.net/#update )
-This publisher is somehow linked to http://apapa.apsci.sg/About-Us/ and they mention Bilingual Publishing, Frontier Science Press, PiscoMed Publishing and Universe Scientific Publishing. All suspicious names mentioned in the Beall’s list https://beallslist.net
Thanks Henrietta. Yes, I had seen their profile in Scimago, and yet, they seemed weird. Further information about their frequency and processing fees and the rest suggest the predatory nature of the journal. I think I gonna pass on them.
Dear Henrieta Hrablik and Ernesto Dominguez Lopez (Update 11-02-2025: As of now this journal is discontinued in Scopus). As indicated in my previous reply they started to publish a suspiciously larger number of papers in 2024 https://www.scopus.com/sourceid/21101052847#tabs=2 It is already more than 1600 (!) while 'normally' it is less than twenty or so.
As indicated before: I predict that they will be discontinued soon.
I got a review request from them too. I saw they were delisted from the Web of Science core collection: https://jcr.clarivate.com/jcr-jp/journal-profile?journal=J%20INFRASTRUCT%20POLICY&year=2023&fromPage=%2Fjcr%2Fhome
The were listed in Scopus till 2024, and had sufficiently good Cite score. In the last year they started publishing multiple issues in a month! This has led to Scopus discontinuing their coverage
The Journal of Infrastructure, Policy and Development (JIPD) was previously indexed in Scopus; however, it appears that it is no longer included in the Scopus database. A key indicator of this change is the removal of Scopus indexing information from the journal’s official website, which was previously listed prominently. I reached out to the journal's editorial office for clarification regarding this change, but unfortunately, they have not responded to my inquiry. This lack of transparency is concerning, particularly given that the journal charges a high article processing charge (APC) of $1,800 USD. Given the journal's absence from Scopus indexing and its non-responsiveness, I strongly advise researchers and authors to exercise caution before submitting their work to this journal. Always verify indexing status directly with databases like Scopus or DOAJ and seek transparency from the publisher before making any financial commitment.
